AN UPDATED FLORISTIC CHECKLIST OF SARISKA TIGER RESERVE, ALWAR, RAJASTHAN: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW

This review presents a comprehensive and updated floristic checklist of the Sariska Tiger Reserve (STR) in Rajasthan. Compiled through an extensive analysis of published literature and authenticated secondary data, the study consolidates fragmented records and standardizes plant nomenclature according to the APG IV (Angiosperm Phylogeny Group) system. A total of 474 species belonging to 315 genera and 85 families are documented. Angiosperms dominate the flora, contributing 469 species (98.94%), whereas pteridophytes and gymnosperms are represented by only 4 species (0.84%) and 1 species (0.21%), respectively. Among angiosperms, dicotyledons constitute the major component with 362 species (76.37%) and 244 genera, followed by monocotyledons comprising 107 species (22.57%) and 67 genera. Among the recorded taxa, Poaceae is the most dominant family with 64 species and 42 genera, followed by Fabaceae (57 species; 34 genera) and Asteraceae (30 species; 26 genera). Other significant families include Malvaceae (29 species; 15 genera), Cyperaceae (23 species; 8 genera), Acanthaceae and Amaranthaceae (20 species each; 11 genera each), Euphorbiaceae and Lamiaceae (14 species each), and Cucurbitaceae (13 species. This updated checklist will provide a reliable baseline for future floristic, ecological, and conservation research and serves as a valuable reference for researchers, policymakers, and biodiversity managers.

CHECK LIST OF FLOWERING PLANTS OF NAHARGARH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN, INDIA

The present study was conducted to collect, identify and document the flora of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary, Jaipur district of Rajasthan, India. The Survey of plants of Sanctuary was carried out during 2022 to 2024. The different species collected during the surveys were identified with the help of various flora of Rajasthan taxonomic literature, taxonomy expert and Department of Botany, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. A total of 506 plants species belonging to 90 families have been found in the investigation. Poaceae was the dominant family, followed by Fabaceae and Asteraceae.

A CHECKLIST OF THE ANGIOSPERMS OF TAL CHHAPAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY, RAJASTHAN, INDIA

Tal Chhapar Wildlife Sanctuary (TCWS), located in the arid zone region of the largest state of the country, Rajasthan comprises of 102 species of Angiosperms. It contains 83 dicot and 19 monocot species that include 16 trees, 16 shrubs and 48 herbs. Fabaceae with 10 species and Poaceae with 13 species occupy the first position in dicots and monocots, respectively. Acacia and Cyperus with 04 species each have been found to be the largest genera represented while 48 genera are represented by solitary species. The present study enumerates all species of flowering plants occurring in the sanctuary area with their correct name along with first citation, vernacular names and habit. The paper also briefly deals with the basic geographical location, climate, type of vegetation and ecological framework of TCWS.
The outcome of the work is based on extensive field survey of the area conducted during 2021–2023 and study of previous literature.
